‘Admn Delaying, Denying UGC Benefits’

Chandigarh: A day after several aided college teachers were detained during a peaceful candle march in Sector 17, the Chandigarh Aided College Teachers' Association (Cacta) Saturday said the UT is delaying the implementation of UGC regulations and denying teachers their due service benefits despite home minister Amit Shah's 2023 announcement confirming Chandigarh's UT status under the Centre.

Over 125 teachers participated in the march to press for their demands, including Career Advancement Scheme promotions from July 18, 2018, the release of pending DA, 20% HRA, full salary during one-year probation, and enhancement of retirement age as per UGC norms.
