What is the National Education Policy (NEP) About? Decoding its Politics, Economy and Pedagogy

The India Academic Freedom Network organised a panel on what the National Education Policy is about. Opening remarks by Rajshree Chandra. Followed by Nandita Narain, Sachidanand Sinha, Sudhanshu Bhushan and Tanuja Kothial in a discussion moderated by Apoorvanand.


This event, jointly hosted by India Academic Freedom Network (IAFN) and International Solidarity for Academic Freedom in India (InSAF India), discusses the way in which attempts to protest the total destruction of Gaza and call for a ceasefire, as well as academic discussions on the issue are being attacked and silenced in India, and across the world

A public meeting, titled, Debating Curriculum Revisions was convened by the India Academic Freedom Network. Several distinguished faculty (many of who have been associated with the writing of National Curriculum Framework, 2005) spoke on the recent changes and revisions in school textbooks, university curriculum and syllabi. The event was held at the Jawahar Bhavan, New Delhi.

InSAF India Missing Lecture

InSAF India hosts The Missing Lecture Series as part of the refusal of the silencing of academic voices, in response to the blatant and authoritarian suppression of discussion and exchange of ideas in Indian universities. Professor G.N. Devy was invited to deliver a lecture at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay in Mumbai on 31 January 2024. He was informed a day before the scheduled date that the lecture was cancelled by the Institute Lecture Committee for unspecified reasons. You can hear the lecture here
