EFLU Students Allege Admin Blocked Gathering on Political Prisoners, Citing Prisoners “Rioters,” Event “Anti-Govt.”

Students at EFLU have alleged that the administration prevented them from organising a programme on political prisoners in India jailed under the “draconian” UAPA, citing it as “anti-governmental” and labelling the figures featured in the programme as “rioters.”

The event, organised in collaboration with the Progressive Reading Circle and the Fraternity Movement, was scheduled on Monday to commemorate Jatin Das Martyrdom Day and Political Prisoners Day, but could not take place after the administration denied permission and allegedly threatened students with disciplinary action….
