Indian Knowledge System to Be In UG Curriculum of Major Subjects

Indore: The Department of Higher Education is set to revamp the undergraduate curriculum by introducing a dedicated unit on the Indian Knowledge System in all major subjects from the upcoming academic session. The new syllabus is being prepared for 19 key subjects under the National Education Policy 2020, including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, History, Philosophy, Sociology, Political Science, Management, English and Hindi Literature, Geography and Economics.
As part of this transformation, the first unit of each subject will now highlight concepts rooted in ancient Indian wisdom. For instance, Acharya Kanad's atomic theory, which predates Dalton's theory by over 2,600 years, will be included in the Physics syllabus. Similarly, Raja Bhoj's contributions to architecture, documented in his treatise Samarangana Sutradhara, will be integrated into the Architecture curriculum….
