A student of Azim Premji University in Bengaluru was suspended for two years following the February 24 campus violence incident, which students allege began after members of ABVP forcibly entered the university premises and vandalised property.

In a press release issued on Friday, students alleged that the February 24 campus violence “was initiated by external actors who forcefully entered university premises and vandalized property,” but that instead of taking action against those responsible, the university administration had imposed “severe punishment on a student for allegedly failing to ‘de-escalate’ the situation.”…
