Supreme Court Allows Ashoka Professor to Post Online, Raps Sit over Probe Delay

The Supreme Court on Wednesday pulled up the probe team investigating the FIR against Ashoka University professor Ali Khan Mahmudabad in the Operation Sindoor post case, asking them why it was misdirecting itself. The bench of Justices Surya Kant and Joymalya Bagchi also allowed him to continue posting online except on sub judice matters, and upheld his interim protection.

"With a view to clarify the confusion being created wrt conditions imposed in para 6 of 21st May order, we make it clear that petitioner is entitled to continue to write any online post/article or express his opinion, except that he should not comment on sub judice matters. Interim protection against arrest to continue," the bench said.

"We are asking why SIT is on the face of it misdirecting itself," the bench asked….
