Teachers’ Day has passed. The greetings that flooded phones, extolling teachers as Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh, have grown stale. In the age of WhatsApp, every teacher receives the same customised message. Students rarely take the trouble to compose even a line of their own. And we, too, know the ritual: acknowledge with a polite “thank you”.
