Academics Wary About ‘Official’ Rewrite of Nation’s History

The history of Indonesia has yet to be correctly recorded, Indonesia’s Minister of Cultural Affairs Fadli Zon said last week, emphasising that the country’s history needs to be rewritten to include newly discovered data and information from reliable sources.

“The history of Indonesia was written with then-limited data and information. Now a number of researchers have discovered new evidence, artefacts and fossils that lead to a more comprehensive understanding about our history,” Zon told media in Bandung, West Java, on 24 June….
