Bremen University Cancels Renowned Jewish Researcher

The University of Bremen has cancelled an event featuring psychoanalyst Iris Hefets on its premises.
The university argued that the organisation Hefets belongs to, Jewish Voice for Just Peace in the Middle East, has been classified as “reliably assessed as extremist” by the Verfassungsschutz, Germany’s Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution.
Hefets is an internationally renowned specialist on trauma research and Holocaust remembrance and was to give a presentation on ‘Schweigen und Schuld – Psychologische Mechanismen im Umgang mit dem Genozid in Gaza’ (Silence and Guilt – Psychological Mechanisms in Dealing with the Genocide in Gaza)….
