‘Only Tamil and English to Continue’: MK Stalin Rolls Out New Education Policy for State

NEW DELHI: Amid the ongoing language row, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin rolled out the state’s new education policy on Friday.After releasing the policy, Stalin said the state will continue to follow the two-language formula, Tamil and English in schools. He also felicitated 901 students from government schools who secured admissions to premier institutions, including IITs, NITs and other top universities.
Stalin further highlighted that 75% of students who passed the Class XII exam this year in Tamil Nadu enrolled for higher education and expressed his aim to raise this figure to 100% in the coming years.“We will not allow ‘pirooku’ (reactionary thinking) in our education. Our State Education Policy aims to create ‘samathuva kalvi’ (education for equality) and ‘pagutharivu kalvi’ (education with rational thought). This will serve as a platform for students to compete with international standards of education,” Stalin said….
